On the evening of the 5th, Amy polished her Sunday shoes and put them in the hallway, by the front door, for St. Nicholas to fill them during the night.
That evening, she was also uncharacteristically shy about coming out of her room after her official bedtime -- even when her nappy was full and needed to be changed. I suppose she was scared that St. Nicholas would be scared away or something.
I polished my shoes, too, and put them next to hers -- and in the morning, there were things in mine, too!
Amy got a cassette with children's music and a little Playmobil figure (a mother with a baby in a baby carrier); I got some orange-flavoured marzipan, an After Eight chocolate Father Christmas, and some Oreos.
