My computer shows me for a flipped "j" this: ظ, there's a good amount of guessing needed that it should be a "j".
July 3 2007, 14:21:44 UTC 16 years ago
The Arabic letter I see for flipped "j" doesn't look much like a J to me, either, but you're complaining to the wrong person, I'm afraid.

If I copy your text and try to type something within it, it still wont work.

Nope -- they're all separate letters.
Sort of like how you can't "put a special char" in front of a "p" and get a "b" or a "d" or a "q" out of them, even though the shapes are similar -- if you want a "d" shape (which looks like an upside-down "p"), you have to type a "d", not something special in front of a "p".
So you need some way to type those upside-down letters, and a font which contains them.
I use Windows's Character Map application (Start > Run, type in "charmap") and/or UniPad to type in characters which aren't on my keyboard. Others have written little scripts which will automatically do things such as reverse the order of letters and choose the appropriate "flipped" letter.

You might want to change the URL to the current form, though (http://pne.livejournal.com/398399.html rather than http://www.livejournal.com/users/pne/398399.html).
